JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented WSH Officer to support our Group’s safety agenda and ensure compliance across all projects. Reporting to the WSH Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out site safety inspections, enforcing WSH policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring that all regulatory and company safety requirements are adhered to.

This is a hands-on role where you will:

· Support the WSH Manager in implementing and maintaining the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) across all projects

· Conduct regular site safety inspections and ensure that corrective and preventive actions are effectively carried out

· Identify, assess, and mitigate workplace risks arising from activities, processes, and site conditions, and recommend practical measures to eliminate or minimise hazards

· Assist in safety reporting and investigations, including fact-finding, root cause analysis, and follow-up actions

· Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture by conducting briefings, engaging workers and subcontractors, and encouraging safe work practices at all times

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Policy & Compliance

• Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures in alignment with company requirements, MOM regulations, and WSH standards
• Ensure all safety policies remain up-to-date with the latest regulatory requirements and industry best practices
• Support OSHA, Environmental, ISO, and client audits by preparing documentation and ensuring readiness
• Maintain proper safety documentation and records, including risk assessments, incident reports, and statutory submission

2. Site Safety Inspection & Monitoring

• Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and unsafe practices, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented
• Inspect machinery, equipment, and tools to ensure they meet regulatory standards and are in safe working condition
• Recommend and verify proper use of Personal Protective Equipment across all worksites
• Monitor for potential hazards such as defective equipment, unsafe conditions, or unsafe acts, and provide timely advice and interventions

3. Risk Assessment & Safety Management System

• Assist in the execution of the company’s Safety Management System
• Identify, assess, and mitigate foreseeable risks from workplace activities and processes
• Support in developing safe work procedures, permit-to-work systems, and control measures to ensure risk elimination or minimisation

4. Incident & Accident Investigation

• Ensure proper safety procedures are documented and implemented at all sites
• Conduct investigations into incidents, accidents, and near-misses, including root cause analysis, evidence gathering, and report preparation
• Document findings and recommend corrective and preventive measures to avoid recurrence
• Verify timely submission of incident and injury reports to regulatory agencies

5. Training & Safety Culture

• Provide training and briefings on key WSH topics, including fire prevention, machine guarding, hazardous materials handling, and site-specific risks
• Conduct toolbox meetings, induction programmes, and refresher training sessions for employees and subcontractors
• Promote a proactive safety culture by encouraging reporting of unsafe acts/near-misses and recognising safe practices on site
