Job Summary

The Trade Finance Specialist manages and processes international trade transactions, ensuring secure, accurate, and timely execution of global deals by handling financial instruments and complex import/export documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage issuance, amendment, and settlement of Letters of Credit (LCs), Bank Guarantees, and Standby LCs to facilitate international trade transactions
• Process Import/Export Bills for Collection, Documentary Credits, and Trust Receipts accurately to support trade operations
• Review and manage Inward and Outward Bills for Collection and related documentation to ensure completeness and compliance
• Scrutinize shipping and financial documents for compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
• Identify and raise discrepancies in documents under LCs and collections promptly to mitigate risks
• Monitor compliance related to trade transactions to uphold internal controls and regulatory standards
• Monitor and manage credit lines and limits associated with trade transactions to control financial exposure
• Identify, assess, and escalate risks or irregularities in trade deals to safeguard company interests
• Assist with audits and internal compliance checks to ensure adherence to policies and procedures
• Input and manage trade transactions accurately in internal systems to maintain up-to-date records
• Generate detailed reports on trade volumes, client activities, and operational metrics to support decision-making
• Coordinate with Relationship Managers, Operations, Compliance, and Treasury teams to ensure seamless trade processing
• Liaise with external parties such as banks, shipping companies, and customs agents to facilitate smooth transaction flow

Required competencies and certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, or related field
• 2-5 years of experience in Trade Finance or Banking Sector
• Strong understanding of banking and financing terms to effectively manage trade finance instruments
• High attention to detail and risk awareness to ensure accuracy and mitigate financial risks
• Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills applied in trade finance contexts
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint to analyze data and prepare presentations
