This is a newly created position within a well-established global maritime company. The Team Lead, Group Accounting, will play a central role in overseeing the group accounting function and leading a growing team. The individual will report directly to senior finance leadership and is expected to grow with the role as the organisation expands.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a Group Accounting team, with responsibility expected to grow significantly over time
• Oversee month-end close, group consolidation and financial reporting
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting to international headquarters
• Assist in driving process improvements and champion digital transformation within the finance function
• Collaborate with finance teams across multiple geographies and time zones
• Liaise with external auditors and support the annual audit process

Requirements

• Proven experience in a team leadership role within accounting or finance — this is a must
• Comfortable managing and coordinating with teams across different countries and time zones
• Experience reporting into an international headquarters outside of Singapore
• Strong technical accounting skills with solid knowledge of IFRS and group consolidation
• CPA, CA or equivalent qualification a must
• Shipping or maritime industry background is an advantage, though not required — willingness to learn the industry is key
• Proactive, self-driven and internationally minded
• Genuinely embraces change and digital innovation — this is a fast-evolving environment and the team needs someone who leads change positively
• Comfortable communicating and collaborating across cultures
