Job Summary

Responsible for patching and vulnerability management of Windows Server, VMWare ESXi, Linux, and Unix environments to ensure system security and stability.

Responsibilities

Administer Windows Server (2008/2012/2016/2019) and VMWare ESXi environments to maintain operational efficiency and security
Manage and deploy Hyper-V and VMware virtual machines to support infrastructure needs
Perform patch assessments and plan deployment strategies to mitigate vulnerabilities
Automate pre- and post-patching tasks to improve patch management efficiency
Troubleshoot operating system and VMWare-related issues to minimize downtime
Utilize patch management tools such as BigFix and SCCM to execute patching processes
Monitor and maintain system logs to detect and resolve potential issues proactively
Manage Active Directory configurations including OU, GPO, forest, and domain settings to support organizational policies
Apply knowledge of cluster management software and clustering technologies (geo cluster, multinode passive/active) to ensure high availability
Conduct BIOS and firmware upgrades to maintain hardware performance and security
Understand and apply RAID technologies (RAID 0+1, RAID 1, RAID 5) for data redundancy and performance
Operate within SLA-driven environments to meet service delivery expectations
Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to coordinate system administration tasks
Adapt to flexible, team-oriented, and dynamic work environments
Provide on-call support during weekdays and work on weekends as per roster requirements

Required competencies and certifications

6+ years of experience in Windows and VMware system administration
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience in patch management and vulnerability management
Strong troubleshooting skills in OS and VMWare environments
Experience with patch management tools such as BigFix and SCCM
Ability to work in SLA-driven environments and provide on-call support
