Position objective and summary

• We are looking for a dedicated Steelwork Supervisor cum Draftsman to join ourengineering team. This position combines hands-on supervision of steel fabrication works with technical drafting responsibilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong practical knowledge of steel structures, the ability to oversee work on-site, and proficiency in preparing accurate drawings to support fabrication and project execution

Main tasks / activities / responsibilities

• Steelwork Supervision
• Supervise daily steel fabrication and installation activities atworkshop and/or site.
• Ensure all steelwork complies with approved drawings, specifications, and safetystandards.
• Coordinate manpower, materials, and equipment to meet project timelines.
• Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and rectify any technical issues.
• Work closely with project engineers, foremen, and welders to ensure smooth execution.
• Enforce workplace safety and ensure compliance with WSH regulations.
• Drafting & Technical Drawings
• Prepare 2D/3D drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings for steel structures (platforms, frames, tank supports, skids, reinforcement, etc.).
• Convert engineering concepts into accurate fabrication drawings.
• Update drawings after revisions and maintain proper document control.
• Liaise with engineers and clients to clarify drawing discrepancies or technical queries.
• Assist inmaterial take-off (MTO), cutting lists, and fabrication planning.
• Any other ad hocduties as assigned.

Job requirements (education, linguistic ability, professional experience, leadership qualities, soft skills etc.)

• Diploma / Nitec /Higher Nitec in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related field.
• At least 2–3 years ofexperience in steel fabrication, marine/offshore, construction, or similar industries.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of SolidWorks or similar software is an advantage.
• Good understanding of welding processes, fabrication methods, and steel structure standards.
• Strong supervisory skills with ability to lead a team.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings independently.
• Willing to work in workshop/site environment when required.
• Team player, responsible, and able to meet tightdeadlines
