Job Description
Job Summary
Engage with customers to negotiate quotations and manage shipments locally and cross-trade. Collaborate with agents and internal teams to resolve shipment issues, monitor customer performance, and drive sales campaigns to achieve targets.
Responsibilities
- Engage with customers of various sizes, conducting outfield visits to build relationships and understand needs
- Negotiate and prepare quotations for local and cross-trade shipments to shippers
- Liaise with overseas agents to resolve cross-trade shipment issues, including space allocation, local charges, and free time concerns
- Develop and track account base performance to identify growth opportunities
- Monitor customer performance with the Business Development Manager and recommend actions to meet targets
- Analyze quarterly survey results to enhance customer satisfaction
- Lead Import Push-Pull campaigns by collaborating with Indoor Sales and other stakeholders to propose relevant services
- Manage rate and freight-related activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Coordinate with trade managers on rate and free time filings
- Create and submit Out of Gauge (OOG) applications for Business Unit approval
- Follow up on quotations, credit applications, and free time requests with all stakeholders
- Provide competitor and market rate feedback to line manager for rate reviews
- Monitor and ensure timely filing of sales quotations before closing dates
- Enter rate details into quotation negotiations and process auto-rating upon shipment materialization
- Verify correct freight manifesting for shipments
- Lead troubleshooting of rating issues by collaborating with stakeholders to resolve problems
- Ensure successful auto-rating processes for shipments
Required competencies and certifications
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in English
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Minimum 2 years of working experience in a shipping line
