- cleaning and arranging tables and chairs
- adjusting table arrangements for large gatherings or special requests
- greeting customers as they enter and leave
- explaining the menu and suggesting food and beverage options
- informing guests about special menu items, recommendations and promotions
- serving food and drinks to customers
- removing dishes from the table as customers leave
- restocking tissues, condiments and cutleries
- relaying food and beverage orders to kitchen workers
- presenting the bill and receiving payment from customers
- notifying the manager or supervisor about customer complaints or feedback
