Senior Environmental Consultant – Aquatic Ecologist

Join our growing Ecology and Biodiversity Management Team as a Senior Environmental Consultant – Aquatic Ecologist, where you'll play a key role in delivering environmental solutions across Singapore and the ASEAN region. This is an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects involving ecological surveys, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development.

Your Impact

As a Senior Environmental Consultant – Aquatic Ecologist, you will lead and deliver high-quality aquatic ecological assessments that support responsible environmental planning and sustainable development.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Plan and conduct aquatic and marine ecological surveys across diverse habitats and water bodies.
  • Identify regional aquatic flora and fauna, assess habitats, and map ecological communities.
  • Deliver baseline ecological surveys, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), and biodiversity studies.
  • Develop practical mitigation and biodiversity management strategies.
  • Analyse ecological field data and prepare high-quality scientific and technical reports.
  • Collaborate with clients, government agencies, and project stakeholders across Southeast Asia.
  • Support biodiversity monitoring programmes and conservation initiatives.
  • Lead proposal preparation, project scoping, and business development activities.
  • Keep up to date with regional environmental regulations, industry standards, and best practices.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a genuine passion for aquatic ecology and environmental sustainability.

Requirements

  • Degree in Biology, Aquatic Ecology, Marine Science, Environmental Science, Zoology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in aquatic or marine ecology, preferably within the ASEAN region.
  • Hands-on experience in marine ecology is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of aquatic species identification and ecological field survey techniques.
  • Experience preparing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and ecological assessments.
  • Familiarity with biodiversity legislation and environmental frameworks across Southeast Asia.
  • Experience using the Integrated Biodiversity Assessment Tool (IBAT) or similar ecological assessment platforms.
  • Proficiency in GIS and ecological data management software.
  • Strong statistical and ecological data analysis skills, including multivariate analysis.
  • Experience in habitat restoration, biodiversity offsetting, or biodiversity monitoring programmes is an advantage.
  • Relevant ecological survey permits or licences within the region are highly regarded.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and project management skills.
