Position Summary:
The Senior Manager, Cloud Architecture & Engineering is a strategic leader within the APAC Infrastructure Management team, responsible for architecting, designing, and overseeing secure, scalable, and efficient cloud solutions across AWS, Azure, and Private Cloud platforms. This role drives cloud transformation, modernizes infrastructure, and sets architectural standards for hybrid environments, ensuring alignment with global best practices and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Strategy
- Lead the architecture, design, and deployment of cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, Private Cloud) for APAC, focusing on scalability, security, and performance.
- Develop and implement cloud adoption strategies, including migration, modernization, and automation initiatives.
- Define and enforce architectural standards, frameworks, and best practices for cloud infrastructure.
- Collaborate with global and regional architecture teams to evaluate and integrate emerging technologies.
- Drive cost optimization, resource utilization, and continuous improvement in cloud operations.
- Produce solution proposals, technical documentation, and architectural blueprints for cloud projects.
Solution Design & Implementation
- Oversee the end-to-end design and implementation of cloud infrastructure, ensuring robust security, compliance, and high availability.
- Lead technical workshops, solution reviews, and architecture governance forums.
- Guide teams in deploying modern cloud solutions, including SSO, API-integration, serverless, PaaS.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead and mentor a regional team of infrastructure professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Engage with business stakeholders to analyze requirements, translate needs into technical solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service-level agreements (SLAs) for cloud services.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and resource planning for cloud initiatives.
Governance & Compliance
- Establish governance frameworks for cloud architecture, security, and data protection.
- Monitor KPIs for cloud service performance, user satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with global standards and regulatory requirements.
Additional Role: Backup Crisis Manager
In addition to primary responsibilities, this role will act as a backup Crisis Manager for handling escalations and major incidents within Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Cambodia, Myanmar and Oceania.
- Serve as secondary escalation point for critical incidents and service disruptions.
- Coordinate technical teams and stakeholders during crisis situations.
- Support execution of recovery plans and communication protocols.
- Assist in post-incident reviews and preventive measures implementation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 10–15+ years in infrastructure and cloud services, with 5+ years in leadership roles.
- Deep expertise in Azure and AWS architecture and operations.
- Experience with private cloud platforms (VMware, Nutanix, OpenStack).
- Strong experience in cloud migration projects, including assessment and execution.
- Proficiency in automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of ITIL practices and cost optimization strategies.
- Experience in large-scale, multi-country cloud deployments in APAC.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
Preferred Skills
- Certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, VMware VCP, ITIL v4.
- Experience with containerization and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with FinOps for cloud cost governance.
- Familiarity with ITIL, service management, and architecture governance frameworks.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical evangelism abilities.
