The Senior Electrical Test Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, and supervising electrical testing and commissioning activities for infrastructure projects, particularly those related to LTA (Land Transport Authority) systems. The role involves testing AC and DC electrical circuits, troubleshooting system faults, developing testing procedures, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical Testing & Commissioning

• Perform testing and commissioning of AC and DC electrical circuits in accordance with project specifications and standards.

• Execute functional testing, loop checks, and system integration testing for electrical systems.

• Verify electrical installations and equipment prior to energization.

• Conduct electrical testing using appropriate test instruments and ensure accurate recording of results.

2. LTA Project Implementation

• Participate in LTA infrastructure or rail-related projects involving electrical power systems.

• Ensure testing activities comply with LTA technical requirements and project specifications.

• Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders during testing and commissioning stages.

3. Troubleshooting & Problem Solving

• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults in DC and AC systems.

• Identify root causes of system failures and propose corrective actions.

• Provide technical solutions during testing, commissioning, and operational phases.

4. Procedure Development

• Develop and review testing and commissioning procedures, method statements, and test reports.

• Prepare testing protocols, checklists, and documentation in accordance with project requirements.

• Ensure procedures follow industry standards and safety regulations.

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain proper documentation of testing results and commissioning records.

• Prepare technical reports, test records, and as-built documentation.

• Ensure all documentation complies with project and regulatory requirements.

6. Coordination & Supervision

• Work closely with engineers, technicians, and contractors during testing activities.

• Provide guidance and supervision to junior engineers or technicians when required.

• Coordinate with project managers and system engineers to ensure timely completion of testing activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in electrical testing and commissioning.

• Proven experience working on LTA projects in Singapore.
