Role Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Dry Bulk Analyst to join our Freight Market Analysis team in Singapore. This is a client-facing role with exposure to the commercial side of the shipping industry. We’re looking for an experienced analyst to work as part of team focused on analysing commodity and freight markets. Key tasks will be reporting on and analysing news, events and data related to the dry bulk freight market, in a clear and concise manner. Other tasks include gathering and transforming data, distributing reports, and responding to broker and client requests (plus helping the team with these efforts).


What you’ll be doing

Tasks will include:

  • Collaborating with an international team of analysts to gather data from primary and secondary sources, maintain existing databases, and update charts.
  • Drawing insights from large datasets and communicating findings to the analysis team, brokers, and clients.
  • Summarising daily and weekly fundamental market news and producing written reports on commodity and freight trends for brokers and clients.
  • Delivering presentations to brokers and clients both in person and online, often at short notice.
  • Supporting team members in preparing presentations for key clients.
  • Providing general assistance to the Market Analysis team and brokers, including responding to ad-hoc analytical requests.
  • Engaging with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Interacting with brokers to gain additional market insights and build relationships.
  • Additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

  • Genuine interest in the broader macroeconomic and geopolitical landscape, and how it impacts dry bulk shipping and client businesses.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence in handling large volumes of data.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn, Python, SQL, and data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
