Role Overview

DONG CONSTRUCTION & ENGINEERING PTE LTD is hiring a Safety Coordinator to execute day-to-day Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) controls on active project sites. This is a hands-on role focused on inspections, compliance enforcement, toolbox meetings, and closing out safety issues quickly and properly.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site safety inspections; identify unsafe acts/conditions and implement immediate controls.

• Track, follow up, and close out corrective/preventive actions with site teams and subcontractors.

• Support implementation of Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), Permit-to-Work (PTW), and WSH control measures.

• Coordinate toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and site safety communications.

• Monitor subcontractor compliance (PPE, housekeeping, method statements, site rules) and escalate when required.

• Support incident/near-miss reporting and investigations (evidence collection, action tracking, learning points).

• Maintain WSH documentation and registers (inspection reports, training records, PPE issuance, permits, etc.).

• Assist with audits, site walkdowns, and alignment to client/main contractor safety requirements.

• Track leading indicators and prepare basic WSH performance updates.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years and above of relevant WSH/site safety experience, including experience working on LTA projects.

• Working knowledge of common site safety systems: RA/SWP, PTW, toolbox meetings, inspections, audits.

• WSQ WSH-related certification(s) preferred (e.g., Safety Coordinator / WSH training credentials).

• Strong site presence with disciplined follow-through and documentation.

• Able to communicate effectively with workers, supervisors, and subcontractors.

• Comfortable with basic reporting (Word/Excel) and photo-based documentation.

Preferred

• Experience supporting higher-risk activities (lifting operations, excavation, confined space, hot works, work-at-height).

• Proven ability to drive closure—not just report issues.
