Safety Coordinator

Work Location: Tampines (VSMC Project Site)

Job Summary

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for implementing and overseeing workplace safety programs to ensure a safe and healthy working environment. The role involves conducting site inspections, risk assessments, safety training, and monitoring compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations within the construction and semiconductor industry.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor safety programs, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations, client requirements, and company safety policies.
• Provide safety induction, training, and guidance to employees, subcontractors, and site personnel.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and prepare relevant reports.
• Monitor and promote safe work practices across all project activities.
• Collaborate with project teams, clients, and subcontractors to strengthen safety awareness and safety culture.
• Maintain accurate safety records, reports, permits, and documentation.
• Support emergency preparedness activities and safety campaigns.
• Perform any other ad-hoc duties assigned by the management team.

Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Safety Coordinator or in a similar safety role within construction, engineering, or semiconductor environments.
• Good knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and industry best practices.
• Relevant qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Familiar with Risk Assessment (RA), Safe Work Procedure (SWP), and Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems.
• Experience working in semiconductor fabrication plant projects will be an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Possession of relevant WSH certifications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word.
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin will be an advantage to liaise with Taiwan HQ and project stakeholders.
