Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to support RMB clearing and settlement operations within the Bank. The role involves processing cross-border payment transactions, handling payment investigations, and supporting operational coordination with participating banks to ensure smooth and efficient settlement processes.
Responsibilities
- Process inward and outward RMB payment transactions accurately and within required timelines to ensure smooth settlement
- Investigate payment instructions and resolve transaction enquiries or discrepancies to maintain transaction integrity
- Handle internal and external enquiries regarding payment status or non-receipt of funds to provide timely updates
- Collect and process applicable transaction charges from participating customers or banks to ensure accurate billing
- Review and process account opening documentation for participating clearing banks to support compliance and onboarding
- Prepare monthly operational reports and data submissions for participating banks to facilitate performance tracking
- Coordinate with internal departments to support system enhancements and operational process improvements for increased efficiency
- Assist with operational projects and perform ad-hoc duties assigned by the Department Manager to support team objectives
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
- Prior experience in banking operations, payments, settlement, or clearing operations preferred to enhance role effectiveness
- Knowledge of accounting principles or data analysis advantageous for accurate transaction handling and reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, to manage data and reports efficiently
- Mandarin proficiency preferred to liaise effectively with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve operational issues
- Proactive learning attitude to adapt in a dynamic banking environment
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced operational setting
- Strong sense of responsibility and compliance with internal policies and procedures to maintain operational integrity
