A PURPOSE

The role is to support Bank as a RE under Bank’s infrastructure team for hardware and software under X86 Cloud RFP contract.

B NATURE & SCOPE

Resident Engineer to be dedicated to support and service Bank for installation, troubleshooting and engineering work.

C PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

· Supporting and servicing of Bank’s request for hands-on engineering function at Bank’s Datacenters.

· Troubleshooting any hardware related issues.

· Installation of related software as per required for Microsoft, VMware for hypervisor layer. On-site and on-the-job training can be pickup and learned as the RE progresses into his job functions. The RE is not limited to above software, if he’s a keen worker, he can learn and install related software such as Red Hat, Chef, Veritas as per X86 Cloud RFP software stack.

· Installation and configuration of servers, KVM switches and cabling work.

· Server decommissioning and upgrade activities.

· Patching of latest software updates as required.

D REQUIREMENTS

· Possess diploma in Computer Science or professional certifications.

· Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in similar role and environment.

· Knowledge of Microsoft, VMware, or HP/Dell server would be an added advantage

· Working knowledge of products such as HP and Dell servers.

· Ability to understand and communicate well in spoken and written English. Can understand and speak other languages like Mandarin is a plus.

· Positive, openness to learn and pick-up new things, have initiative, able to articulate ideas and work with others. The fast-paced environment calls for someone who’s determined and able to work with others or alone, under stress.
