Job Description
The Role
The REIT Compliance professional is responsible for ensuring the organization’s ongoing compliance with all regulatory, tax, and operational requirements applicable to Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs). This is a new role due to their acquisition, and you will oversee all Compliance matters for their new REITs business.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with REIT qualification requirements under the Internal Revenue Code, including income, asset, distribution, and ownership tests
- Prepare, review, and maintain REIT compliance testing and supporting documentation on a quarterly and annual basis
- Ensure that all Compliance policies and Investments are in line with MAS regulations
- Support REIT structuring, acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and other transactions from a compliance perspective
- Oversee shareholder ownership tracking and compliance with REIT ownership limitations
- Assist with preparation of REIT-related disclosures for SEC filings and investor communications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- At least 3 years in a REIT Compliance role
- Strong understanding of MAS regulations
- Ability to work independently
