Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated professional to work directly under the Regional Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) of KDDI Asia Pacific. This role is responsible for the planning and execution of business strategies across the APAC region (Asia and Oceania). This is a pivotal position that goes beyond existing boundaries, driving inorganic growth strategies through new business development in the IT sector (including non-telecommunication domains), strategic alliances with external partners, and M&A initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Regional Strategy Formulation & Execution Support
- Assist the CSO in formulating the Mid-Term Management Plan and comprehensive business strategies for the entire APAC region.
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and feasibility studies to identify new growth opportunities.
Strategic Partnership Building
- Formulate, negotiate, and execute alliance strategies with local telecommunication carriers, IT vendors, and startup companies across various countries.
Promotion of M&A and Investment Projects
- Support the full cycle of M&A activities, including target selection, sourcing, due diligence (DD), contract negotiation, and Post-Merger Integration (PMI).
Corporate Reporting & Management Presentation
- Create high-quality presentation materials and reports aimed at top management at the Global Headquarters (Japan) to facilitate decision-making.
Job requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Corporate Planning, Business Planning, or New Business Development at a business corporation. OR Experience in solution proposals or project management within the IT/Telecommunications industry.
- Strong logical thinking capabilities and high-level documentation skills (proficient in PowerPoint and Excel) to articulate complex strategies clearly.
- Ability to think from a management perspective and take ownership of tasks proactively.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Experience working at a Consulting Firm (Strategy or General Management focus).
- Practical experience in M&A or Capital/Business Alliance deals.
- Deep knowledge and insight regarding the Telecommunications and IT industries.
- This role requires proficiency in the Japanese language to effectively communicate with Japanese‑speaking clients.
