Job Description
Purpose of the Role:
The Regional Alliance Manager oversees all aspects of strategic partnerships and alliances for their partners. This role involves managing partner relationships, ensuring the successful execution of joint initiatives, and driving operational efficiency to meet business objectives.
The role also identifies areas of improvement in Zuellig’s external partnerships and manages the change required to improve partner relationships. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, strong communication skills, and a proven track record in managing complex partnerships.
What You’ll Do :
Alliance Management
▪ Act as the primary point of contact for key partners and manage day-to-day communications.
▪ Collaborate with partners to define goals, KPIs, and deliverables for joint initiatives.
▪ Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with partners at all levels.
▪ Organize Governance meeting with partners as monthly or quarterly.
▪ Work with country teams to build the necessary presentations to deliver accurate narration of business performance with a view to operating environment
▪ Being the catalyst between partners and commercial team to ensure targeted business or operation goals.
Operational Excellence
▪ Develop and implement operational processes to support alliance activities, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
▪ Track and report on partnership performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
▪ Coordinate cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, sales, supply chain, regulatory, finance) to ensure seamless execution of partnership initiatives.
▪ Manage the entire process of business transfers into/out of Zuellig with seamless coordination with country and partner teams
Strategy and Planning
▪ Contribute to the development of alliance strategies aligned with company objectives.
▪ Identify new partnership opportunities and assess their operational feasibility.
▪ Analyze market trends to inform strategic decisions and enhance partnership value.
Risk Management:
▪ Monitor risks associated with partnerships and develop mitigation strategies.
▪ Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company policies.
▪ In-time and accurate reporting to management team for any foreseen challenges and risks.
Financial Management:
▪ Work with finance teams to structure projects deals including business transfer projects, pricing models, margin reconciliation of partnerships.
▪ Provide financial data and insights for quarterly and annual business reviews with partners.
▪ Monitor contract compliance to ensure financial obligations are met by both parties.
What will make you successful:
Must-Have:
▪ At least +8 years of experience within the pharmaceutical commercial space with strong matrix influencing capabilities to drive successful execution and delivery of business objectives
▪ Business development / alliance partnering capability and experience
▪ Good understanding of pharmaceutical and mature brands commercial business
Advantage to Have:
▪ Superior communication, influence and interpersonal skills are needed to influence both internal stakeholders and external partners
▪ Experience in managing key accounts or distributor markets will be advantageous
▪ Strong leadership skills, strategic thinking capabilities and strong project management skills
▪ Be highly analytical, and results driven
