THE ROLE

The R&D Engineer Physics Application will be responsible for the detection unit as part of the project management of a POC to a fully commercialised solution for the client.

This includes active direct participation in all research, preparation and execution of all R&D experiments and onsite industrial trials; both internally & externally with subcontractors and clients.

In this role, the R&D Engineer Physics Application will work closely with the Project Lead and with their counterparts in Singapore and Israel from the Marker, Reader and Blockchain teams to support each POC and client project from a technical perspective. This includes active participation in detection activities, XRF measurements, internal data analysis, preparation of technical reports, and support of technical demonstrations during project milestones.

MAIN RESPONSIBLITIES

• Responsible for the development and execute the commercialisation of the tech application from POC to Industrial Roll-out for the detection unit.
• Develop integrated project plans for assigned project(s) with other colleagues from the Marker, Reader and Blockchain teams.
• To study and understand material(s) characteristics & processing methods/systems across various industries/companies.
• Be involved in partaking in all aspects of the projects, from R&D, process engineering, scale up to production, regulatory and quality requirements.
• Responsible for planning, executing and documenting all R&D experiments and tests.
• Co-ordinating experimental activities with subcontractors and clients.
• Writing professional documents for clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Preparing demonstrations to showcase tech applications on demand to stakeholders and potential clients.
• Development of quick POC to showcase solutions for concept demos.
• And any other task or duty which the project may request.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 5+ years of relevant level industrial or applied R&D experience.
• Experience working in cross functional project teams in a complex, international and multicultural environment.

• Highly organised, detailed oriented, responsible, self-motivated and hardworking.
• Ability to explain complicated scientific concepts in a simple way.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Knowledge in Electronics and have Lab experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
• Knowledge of Health, Environmental and Safety Regulations.
• Knowledge in process design and risk management is an advantage.
• Competent in writing technical reports, reports to clients and proposals for pilot projects & tech commercialisation.

EDUCATION

• At least master’s in physics, Electronics Engineering, or Chemical Engineering with an Electronics major.

LANGUAGES

• English
• Second language – French, Chinese, Japanese or Korean is a plus.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Willing to travel extensively and work excess hours when required due to time zone differences.
