Responsibilities

• Analyze tender documents including specifications, drawings, and commercial and technical requirements to ensure comprehensive understanding for accurate bidding
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to obtain necessary commercial information such as insurance coverage and technical data for precise cost estimation
• Perform detailed material take-offs and man-hour estimates to calculate resource requirements and support cost planning
• Source and evaluate material prices and supplier quotations to identify competitive and reliable options
• Conduct site visits and clarification meetings with customers to resolve queries and validate project requirements
• Prepare comprehensive tender summaries for management review to facilitate informed decision-making
• Compile, compare, and review subcontractor quotations to select optimal pricing and terms for project execution
• Estimate indirect costs including staffing, site establishment, and miscellaneous expenses to ensure full cost coverage
• Develop unit rates, construction equipment rates, and other cost data essential for bid preparation
• Verify proposal compliance against tender requirements and prepare supporting documentation for tender negotiation phases
• Calculate quantities for tenders, project variations, and progress claims to support contract management and financial tracking
• Manage documentation and quantity assessments for variations, progress claims, and post-contract adjustments to maintain project accuracy

Required competencies and certifications

• Diploma in Quantity Surveying (QS) Building, Construction, or Civil Engineering
• Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in quantity surveying or related construction cost estimation roles
