Job Description

JOB SUMMARY / JOB OVERVIEW: 

The Project Manager is responsible for managing and reviewing operations policies, standards and procedures related to project logistics. He/She manages the relationships with the logistics operations managers and project logistics resources covering the areas of manpower, internal assets and external vendors. He/She ensures the management of resources and obtain buy-in among internal and external stakeholders. 

He/She focuses on meeting project commitments, is assigned to lead or assist in the planning, implementation and introduction of projects for new systems involving the operations and logistics functions in the organisation.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Develops strategic project plans aligned with business strategies

  2. Reviews business processes, improvements, and solutions to achieve project effectiveness 

  3. Conducts research and data analyses to identify and describe business audiences related to assigned projects

  4. Manages new dish launches, new service/product launches, etc.

  5. Does project planning, scheduling & execution

  6. Reviews the allocation of resources across different project-related business activities

  7. Assembles project staff, supervises their functional and technical development, performance and/or termination, if needed, during the project implementation

  8. Resolves or assists in the resolution of conflicts within and between projects or functional areas

  9. Develops methods to monitor project or area progress 

  10. Monitors and manages project budget and resource allocation

  11. Interacts regularly with project stakeholders to include existing and potential clients to determine their needs and to develop plans to improve project delivery and goal achievement

  12. Undertakes continual adjustments with stakeholders and resources to keep projects on track

  13. Establishes team work among project staff, department staff involved, if needed, and other project stakeholders

  14. Recommends adjustments in project timing, costs, and other project resources to achieve quality standards and project requirements

  15. Ensures proper project reporting

  16. Undertakes any other assigned ad-hoc duties



QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce or relevant fields

  • Project management certification like PMP, SFL, Six Sigma, or Lean Sigma a plus

  • Experienced in project management and leadership 

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Enjoys managing/organising complex tasks and working with clients

  • Versatile and independent in picking up concepts, and possesses strong logical and analytical problem-solving skills

  • Able to grasp business requirements and processes

  • Proficient with MS Office, Google applications, and project management software

  • Meticulous, good organizational and documentation skills

  • Good communication skills

  • Enjoys interacting with customers

  • Committed and meticulous with a good eye for details.

  • A team player

  • Multi-tasking skills

ENVIRONMENT:

The Project Manager typically works in an office environment, though they may occasionally need to be present at the project's physical worksite. He/She spends much time sitting or standing at a computer station, typing correspondence, using project management software and placing business calls. He/She spends ample time to coordinate team members and other parties external of the project team, physically roaming around to ensure proper oversight of dedicated resources, staff’s implementation of project tasks, and monitoring as well as address issues that might impede the finish of projects.

The Project Manager may be required any or all of the following key performance indicators or metrics, contextualized to the company’s requirements at any given time: 

  • Project schedule, i.e., timeliness of project output delivery

  • Cost estimate of project undertaken from start to finish

  • Labour cost spent per time period

  • Resource allocations

  • Quality of output

  • Output variances between expected and actual

  • Cost variances

  • Team morale

  • Client satisfaction from project delivery
