Job Summary

Our Client is looking for an experienced and strategic Procurement Manager to lead and oversee the full spectrum of procurement and sourcing activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving cost efficiency, strengthening supplier relationships, and ensuring all procurement activities are conducted with the highest level of governance and integrity.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives to drive value across all functional areas
  • Work alongside Management to periodically review and update procurement policies and procedures in line with best practices and regulatory standards
  • Proactively identify gaps and risks within the procurement process and introduce preventive measures to safeguard supply chain continuity
  • Evaluate existing workflows and recommend improvements that enhance productivity without compromising governance
  • Take full ownership of the supplier lifecycle from qualification and onboarding through to performance management, contract renewal, or exit
  • Lead supplier negotiations to secure competitive pricing, favourable payment terms, and strong service level commitments
  • Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers, addressing disruptions, quality concerns, and performance gaps effectively
  • Conduct regular performance reviews against agreed KPIs covering quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost competitiveness
  • Oversee the end-to-end tender and quotation process in full compliance with company policies
  • Evaluate and interpret bids objectively, prepare recommendation papers, and obtain necessary approvals for contract awards
  • Review all supplier contracts thoroughly to ensure commercial adequacy, legal compliance, and risk mitigation
  • Maintain visibility over all active contracts to ensure timely renewal, renegotiation, or re-tendering with sufficient lead time
  • Maintain budgetary control over all procurement spend and champion a culture of long-term cost savings
  • Monitor cost performance regularly, conduct variance analysis, and report on savings achieved against targets
  • Identify opportunities for consolidated purchasing, volume discounts, and alternative sourcing to optimise total cost of ownership
  • Ensure all procurement activities strictly adhere to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards
  • Proactively address internal and external audit requirements and close audit findings in a timely manner
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation across all procurement activities, contracts, and approvals to support audit trails
  • Provide Management with regular reporting on spend analysis, supplier performance, policy compliance, and risk exposure
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across Finance, Operations, HR, and business units to deliver timely and fit-for-purpose procurement solution
  • Provide advisory support to business units on procurement policies, supplier selection, and contract matters
  • Support new business initiatives and projects requiring procurement input from initial scoping through to contract execution

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive procurement experience
  • Proven track record in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract management within a manufacturing, precision engineering, or industrial environment
  • Experience managing end-to-end tender and quotation processes including bid evaluation and award recommendations
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, sourcing methodologies, and supply chain best practices
  • Proficient in contract review and interpretation with sound understanding of commercial and legal risk
  • Familiar with ERP systems and procurement modules
