Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our growing team in Singapore as a Post Fixture & Charter Party Executive for dry cargo operations. This role is offered on a 6-month contract basis, with the potential for conversion to a permanent position based on performance and business needs. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to gain broad exposure across both post-fixture operations and charter party administration within a dynamic shipping environment.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for managing all post-fixture and charter party-related activities from the conclusion of a fixture through to final settlement and file closure. Your duties will include:
- Overseeing post-fixture operations for voyage, contract of affreightment (COA), and time-charter fixtures, ensuring smooth execution and timely completion.
- Keeping charterers informed of vessel schedules, updates, and ensuring all required notices are issued promptly.
- Coordinating and following up on key documentation such as bills of lading drafts, loading/discharge documents, freight invoices, letters of indemnity, and demurrage settlements.
- Preparing, issuing, and maintaining accurate records of charter parties for both owners and charterers.
- Liaising closely with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders, including the London post-fixture team.
- Issuing hire/freight invoices and proactively following up on outstanding payments.
- Monitoring and resolving operational or contractual issues, ensuring all parties are kept informed.
- Maintaining proper documentation, updating internal systems, and preparing reports as required.
- Responding to enquiries from customers, suppliers, and colleagues in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Singaporean or Singapore PR holding minimum a diploma
- 2 or more years of relevant experience
- Laytime experience preferred but not essential
- Strong problem solving skills and mind for details
- Possess a sense of urgency
- Good command of written and spoken English with excellent communication skills
- Be proactive in taking initiatives
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
