Job Description
We are representing our client in the marine sector to look a Network Engineer. This role will be a part of the global IT Department and requires advanced systems support, analytical, and documentation skills to support the business needs ofthe organization. The successful candidate will be working together with the Network, Security and Software development team members to ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures comply with internal and external standards and security requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Perform system administration duties in Hybrid cloud environment; Microsoft Windows server, Microsoft Azure Cloud.
- Monitor and ensure optimal system performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and ensure system’s availability and reliability in Production environment.
- Design scalable, secure network architectures for local and remote locations
- Implement and maintain routing and switching infrastructure (Cisco preferred)
- Deploy and configure firewall, VPN, and SD-WAN solutions
- Manage DNS (public and private) and DHCP services
- Configure and maintain wireless networks and WLC (Ruckus preferred)
- Implement and support cloud networking solutions (Azure preferred)
- Lead Day Zero projects for setting up new network infrastructure in local and remote locations
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot complex issues
- Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and configurations
- Perform regular security assessments and apply patches/updates
- Conduct regular after-hours maintenance windows for network upgrades and changes
- Assist with Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration Test (VAPT) and IT audit exercise with security team members and external vendors.
- Involve in the planning and execution of annual IT DR drills.
- Provide escalation support from various sources including EUC L2 escalation; investigate and troubleshoot issues.
- Participate in on-call escalation rotations for 24x7x365 support; evening, overnight, and weekend, holiday and on-call work may be required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent.
- Minimum 3-5+ years in enterprise network engineering roles
- Strong expertise in routing and switching (Cisco preferred)
- Experience with VPN (Site-to-Site, remote access) and SD-WAN technologies and proficiency in DNS and DHCP management
- Experience in wireless networking, Ruckus wireless solutions, WLC configuration and cloud networking concepts
- Experience in Azure cloud networking (Virtual networks, NSGs, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoutes)
- Experience with Day Zero network deployments and greenfield projects
- Fortigate firewall experience (configuration, security policies, UTM features)
- SASE experience, particularly with Cato Networks
- CCNP or CCNA certification (current and active) preferred
- Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104) certification is a plus.
- Experience managing office networks in China will be a big plus
- Proven track record of successful multi-site network deployments
- Experience working in global organizations with distributed locations
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
