Job Description
Purpose of Job
The Membership & Volunteer Development Manager, Community & Collaboration (C&C) Division leads the development and management of YWCA’s membership and volunteer ecosystem, with a focus on building a values-aligned community that supports women and their families.
The role oversees membership schemes, drives meaningful engagement for members and volunteers, and strengthens pathways from participation to contribution. This includes growing and activating a sustainable volunteer pool, including converting members into active contributors.
The role works closely with programme teams to ensure that membership and volunteer efforts are purposefully integrated into programme delivery and community-building outcomes.
Key Responsibilties
MembershipStrategy & Development
· Develop and manage membership frameworks, includingtiering, value propositions and engagement models
· Strengthen member acquisition, retention andparticipation across different segments (e.g. individuals, corporates)
· Ensure membership offerings are aligned toorganisational priorities and community-building outcomes
VolunteerDevelopment & Growth
· Develop and implement strategies to grow and sustain adiverse and committed volunteer pool
· Design and manage volunteer pathways, includingonboarding, development and retention
· Drive conversion of members and community participantsinto active volunteers
Engagement& Community Building
· Curate meaningful engagement opportunities for membersand volunteers, including events, circles and contribution platforms
· Foster a sense of belonging, ownership andparticipation within the YWCA community
· Design engagement approaches that move individualsfrom participation to contribution
Partnership& Ecosystem Development
· Build and manage partnerships with corporates,community groups and stakeholders to support membership and volunteerinitiatives
· Develop collaboration opportunities that expand accessto networks, resources and participation platforms
· Support integration of partners into engagement andvolunteer pathways
Monitoring,Insights & Governance
· Track membership and volunteer metrics (e.g. growth,engagement, conversion, retention)
· Analyse insights to strengthen engagement strategiesand community outcomes
· Prepare reports and updates for management, committeesand stakeholders
· Prepare reports, presentations and materials formanagement, committees and board discussions
· Support committee meetings and board engagementprocesses, including coordination and follow-ups
Operations& Programme Integration
· Oversee operational processes supporting membershipand volunteer initiatives, including systems, communications and coordination
· Ensure effective integration of volunteers intoprogramme delivery in collaboration with programme teams
· Maintain compliance with organisational policies andsafeguarding standards
Requirements
· Degree inCommunity Development, Social Sciences, Business, or a related field
· At least 6–8years of relevant experience in community engagement, membership development,volunteer management or related areas
· Demonstratedexperience in building and managing membership or volunteer ecosystems,including growth and engagement strategies
· Experience instakeholder and partnership development, including working with corporates andcommunity organisations
· Experience indesigning engagement initiatives or community platforms
· Strong ability tomanage multiple initiatives and stakeholders concurrently
· Excellentcommunication, facilitation and coordination skills
· Familiarity withcommunity engagement or social impact contexts will be an advantage
