Position: Medical Laboratory Technologist (Contract Position)
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Technologist to support both our Clinical Genetic testing workflow and research activities in Spatial Genomics. This is a contract position with potential for renewal based on performance and conversion to full-time position based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform spatial genomics experiments and/or clinical molecular and genetic testing using established laboratory techniques and workflows.
· Collaborate with internal or external research teams to design, execute, and optimize experiments.
· Maintain accurate and complete laboratory records, documentation, and experiment logs.
· Receive, process, and test clinical specimens in accordance with SOPs and turnaround time requirements.
· Perform quality control, assay validation, and other activities to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
· Track, manage, and document laboratory inventory, including usage, procurement, deliveries, stock counts, and expiry monitoring.
· Ensure laboratory instruments undergo scheduled preventive maintenance and promptly escalate performance issues.
· Support technical enquiries from internal teams or partner entities regarding test results, methodologies, and assay limitations.
· Stay up to date with advances in molecular genetics, genomics technologies, and spatial biology.
· Carry out additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Genetics, Genomics, Biochemical Genetics, Biomedical Science, or a related field.
· Experience with Spatial Genomics or strong interest in learning the technology is preferred.
· Hands-on proficiency in Molecular Biology techniques and laboratory equipment.
· Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
· Meticulous, organized, and committed to high quality and data integrity.
· Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
