Manufacturing Station in Malaysia - Global IT Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Engineer – Site Operations to join our global IT team. This role will be responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting the site’s IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations across hardware, software, networks, and security systems. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in building and maintaining a reliable and secure technology environment that supports all aspects of the facility’s operations.

Key Responsibilities

• End-User Support: Deliver responsive and effective support to users, resolving technical issues promptly.
• Hardware & Software Management: Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals; troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues.
• Infrastructure Administration: Provide hands-on support for site-level IT infrastructure including servers, storage systems, and network equipment.
• Policy & Security Compliance: Implement and enforce IT/security policies to safeguard company data and ensure compliance with global standards.
• Vendor Coordination: Manage vendor relationships for procurement, maintenance, and evaluation of hardware/software solutions; recommend adoption of new technologies.
• System Monitoring: Track and maintain system performance across servers, networks, and applications, identifying and addressing potential risks proactively.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of IT infrastructure, system configurations, procedures, and service logs.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 7–10 years of hands-on experience in IT operations or infrastructure support, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of structured cabling and network architecture/technologies (LAN/WAN/Cloud).
• Proven experience in setting up and managing LAN/WAN networks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Microsoft Autopilot, VMware, Cisco IOS.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and understanding of cybersecurity best practices.
• Experience with helpdesk/ticketing systems to manage and resolve user requests efficiently.
• Ability to automate tasks using PowerShell, Python, or similar scripting tools.
• Deep technical knowledge of computer hardware, storage devices, and peripherals, with hands-on troubleshooting and repair skills.
