Job Summary

Join Quantinuum’s Singapore team as a Deployment Physicist to install and service Helios quantum systems worldwide, supporting integration, validation, and future hardware deployments through extensive travel and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Install Helios quantum computer systems on customer premises, including shipment preparation, relocation, installation, and performance validation
• Develop and improve detailed plans and work instructions for installation and service activities
• Lead qubit-based integration and validation tasks as the team’s atomic physics and qubit operations expert during deployments
• Provide remote and on-site support for Helios systems, collaborating with subject matter experts and global teams
• Participate in integration and validation of Helios systems at Quantinuum prior to deployment
• Contribute technical expertise to design, execution, and deployment of future on-premises hardware offerings beyond Helios
• Maintain strong focus on achieving business success, advancing technical progress, and fostering professional team interactions
• Travel internationally and domestically up to 3 months continuously during deployments and approximately 25% of the time otherwise

Required competencies and certifications

• Ph.D. completed
• Minimum 8 years of post-graduate experience (including M.S. or Ph.D.) as a technical contributor or leader in atomic physics or quantum computing roles
• Eligibility for international travel
• Compliance with U.S. Government national security requirements: candidates must not be nationals of the People’s Republic of China or Russia unless also U.S. citizens

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Deep knowledge of trapped-ion technology, high-performance quantum computing, and hardware integration and validation
• Proven atomic physics research and development experience demonstrated by scholarly publications, successful programs, or product launches
• Experience with lasers, laser cooling, atom trapping, cryogenics, ultra-high vacuum systems, analog and digital electronics, laboratory hardware control, Python programming, physical modeling, and data analysis
• Strong commitment to exceeding performance and schedule expectations
• Proficiency in documenting work through shared notes, standard work documentation, test plans, troubleshooting guides, and configuration records
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
