Kitchen Assistants support a wide range of tasks, adapting to the immediate needs of Cooks and Waitstaff. Their core duties and responsibilities typically include:

• Food Preparation

  • Washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables

  • Assisting with basic cooking tasks such as mixing, portioning, or plating

  • Preparing ingredients and ensuring they are readily available for chefs

• Cleaning and Maintenance (Kitchen & Facilities)

  • Keeping workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment clean and sanitized

  • Washing dishes, pots, and pans promptly

  • Ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards

  • Cleaning and maintaining the office, waiting area, and toilets to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for staff and guests

• Stocking and Organization

  • Receiving and storing deliveries of food and supplies

  • Monitoring inventory levels and reporting shortages

  • Ensure condiments and table supplies are replenished regularly

• Support for Service Staff

  • Assist in packing food for takeaway customers

• General Assistance

  • Disposing of waste and recycling appropriately

  • Performing routine tasks to keep the kitchen and facility running smoothly

  • Supporting the team with any ad hoc duties as required
