About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Legal Counsel to join our Singapore office. Reporting directly to the Legal Director, you will support the Company's day-to-day legal, commercial, and compliance matters while working closely with business stakeholders and the Group Legal Team based in China.
This role offers excellent exposure to cross-border commercial transactions, corporate legal matters, and regional business operations across APAC. It is an ideal opportunity for a junior legal professional looking to develop an in-house legal career within a multinational organization.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in reviewing, drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, including: Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Sales and Supply Agreements, Procurement Agreements, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Service Agreements, Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), Term Sheets, Novation Agreements and other commercial and corporate documents.
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda, opinions and summaries on corporate, commercial, regulatory and compliance matters.
- Identify potential legal and commercial risks and propose practical, business-oriented solutions.
- Support the Legal Director in providing timely legal advice to internal stakeholders across various business functions.
- Liaise and coordinate with the Group Legal Team in China on cross-border transactions, corporate governance matters, internal legal policies and regional legal projects.
- Assist with corporate governance matters, including board resolutions, corporate filings, shareholder matters and maintenance of statutory records.
- Support contract management, document control and legal record-keeping.
- Assist in developing and improving internal legal processes, templates and compliance procedures.
- Monitor changes in applicable laws and regulations that may impact the Company's business operations.
- Provide legal and administrative support on special projects, investments, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions and other strategic initiatives as required.
- Perform any other legal or compliance-related duties assigned by the Legal Director.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B. or equivalent).
- Fresh graduates with strong internship experience are encouraged to apply. Candidates with up to 3 years of relevant experience in private practice and/or an in-house legal environment are also welcome.
- Strong foundation in contract drafting and legal research.
- Able to manage multiple assignments and prioritise work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Commercially minded with the ability to provide practical legal solutions.
- Self-motivated, adaptable and able to work independently while collaborating effectively within an international team.
