Job Summary

Develop, test, document, and maintain application programs using Java and related technologies. Support system design, user training, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery activities to ensure reliable system development and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Code, modify, test, and document new and existing programs using assigned languages and tools following coding conventions to ensure quality deliverables
• Prepare and document test data to validate program functionality and accuracy
• Set up and maintain testing and production environments to support application deployment
• Develop and update program and system documentation to facilitate maintenance and user understanding
• Assist in defining file structures and processing logic requirements to support application functionality
• Produce deliverables that comply with group standards and procedures to maintain consistency and quality
• Support Project Leaders by contributing to application system study, design, work coordination, project management, and user training to enhance project outcomes
• Troubleshoot and resolve end-user issues during application implementation and maintenance to ensure system reliability
• Train contract programmers on relevant programming skills to build team capability
• Participate in Disaster Recovery activities, including simulation exercises at recovery sites, to ensure business continuity
• Acquire new programming skills related to system development and maintenance as assigned by supervisors to stay current with technology
• Perform any other tasks related to system development and maintenance as assigned by supervisors to support team objectives

Required competencies and certifications

• Experience coding with Java, JSP, Servlet, Java Bean, JavaScript, session management, JDBC, and SQL for at least 3 years within the past 4 years
• Experience coding with HTML5, XHTML, AJAX, Web Services (REST API), JSON, Java Server Faces, and EJ for at least 2 years within the past 3 years
