Job Description
About Greentree Montessori:
Founded in 1990, Greentree Montessori has established itself as a pioneering educational institution in Singapore, dedicated to nurturing young minds through child-led, relationship-based pedagogy. With multiple preschools across the island, Greentree also extends its expertise to teacher training, parenting education, and consulting services for more than 200 schools across Asia.
Job Overview:
At Greentree, every teacher is a trusted professional who accompanies children through their earliest and most important years. As an Infant Educarer, you will care for and guide infants aged 2 to 18 months, fostering security, confidence, and curiosity through calm, respectful, and developmentally appropriate practice.
Teaching at Greentree goes far beyond the classroom. Our educators are leaders in education — from designing innovative curriculum and creating bespoke learning materials, to organising large-scale events such as education conferences.
Our teachers are not confined to a single age group. We work as a unified professional community. Educators may follow their children as they grow into toddler and preschool stages, ensuring continuity of care and learning across the entire early childhood journey.
Beyond daily routines, you’ll build partnerships with families, contribute to a supportive team culture, and explore opportunities for professional growth. At Greentree, infant educators are trusted, empowered, and recognised as professionals who set the foundation for lifelong learning.
If you want to make a real difference, this is where you can inspire, lead, and expand your career in ways few schools can offer.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Guide and Nurture Development
- Provide attentive, respectful, and responsive care that supports infants’ physical, emotional, and cognitive growth.
- Design safe, calm, and engaging spaces that encourage natural movement and exploration.
2. Build Strong Relationships
- Foster meaningful partnerships with families to ensure continuity of learning between school and home.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive, high-performance team culture.
3. Lead Quality Practices
- Plan and implement child-led learning experiences aligned with scientific pedagogies adopted by Greentree
- Observe, document, and reflect on each child’s development to guide daily practice.
4. Conduct Routine Caregiving:
- Review and follow standards and procedures for routine caregiving.
- Identify opportunities for improving routine caregiving practices.
5. Contribute Beyond the Classroom
- Participate in family and community programmes that strengthen Greentree’s mission.
6. Commit to Professional Growth
- Engage in continuous professional development and share best practices with the team.
- Be open to feedback, willing to learn, and ready to take ownership of your role.
Qualifications:
- Recognized Early Childhood Education qualification (EY1 / EY2 / L1 / L2) and/or relevant diploma or degree.
- Candidates trained in child-led or relationship-based approaches (RIE, Pikler, Montessori, or equivalent) will be given priority.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in the school’s language of instruction, either English or Chinese (minimum ‘C6’ in O-Level English or Chinese, or equivalent qualification; IELTS Band 5.5 or HSK Level 5).
- Positive, charismatic, proactive, and solution-oriented attitude.
- Warm, observant, with strong organisational skills.
- Passionate about nurturing children across all developmental stages.
Additional Requirements:
- Comfortable working in open-air classrooms and leading outdoor activities.
- Flexibility and willing to support occasional Saturday events and community programmes.
- Physically fit and open to overseas travel for annual school exchange projects or training.
