UWCSEA is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Head of Active for Life (recreational) Gymnastics to join its Dover Campus from August 2026.

The ‘Head of Active for Life (recreational) Gymnastics’ ('A4L') would be a key member of the UWCSEA Sports Team and responsible for the design, delivery and monitoring of the Gymnastics programme, the planning and coordination of gymnastics in P.E. They would report to the Head of Gymnastics to: implement a world class, expansive Gymnastics programme; ensure and implement efficient coaching and feedback communication systems. 

The Head of ‘A4L’ Gymnastics would be responsible for the management of the Gymnastics Programme Coaches (full time and externally hired) and will also be involved in ‘Active 4 Life’ & ‘Competitive’ Team gymnastics coaching and the teaching of P.E gymnastics classes. The A4L Gymnastics Head would liaise with the Director of Activities & Sport, Head of Gymnastics, Heads of P.E, Activities Manager, Head of Whole School Sport, Head of JS/MS Sport and CAP Manager for all Gymnastic related issues regarding recreational programmes.

Main Responsibilities

The role requires strong leadership of the:

  • Planning and implementation of a broad, inclusive and varied, year-long Gymnastics Active 4 Life programme for students, staff & the wider UWCSEA & Singapore community.
  • Lead the Gymnastics Programme coaching team ensuring all coaches are working to the highest level, and following all coaching expectations and procedures. This includes leading and monitoring of external coaches.
  • Manage and provide INSET for the Gymnastics Programme Coaches (full time and externally hired).
  • Support the schedule of the gymnastics centre and staffing for P.E. lessons, Active for Life and Competitive programmes alongside the Head of Gymnastics.
  • Manage the safe and efficient use of space in the Gymnastics centre - in coordination with the Director of Activities & Sport, Head of Gymnastics, Heads of P.E, Activities Manager, Head of Whole School Sport, Head of JS/MS Sport and CAP Manager.
  • Lead the Implementation of student Assessment & Feedback systems in Active 4 Life programmes.
  • Organise & mentor CAS Students and teacher assists instructing in ‘Active 4 life’ and Service programmes.
  • Manage & coordinate Gymnastics Service Programmes.
  • Ensure the safety of the facility and the equipment therein. Coordinate regular equipment accreditation and safety checks.

Person Specifications

  • Qualified Gymnastics coach with excellent experience in coaching children (K-12)
  • Holding appropriate qualifications
  • At least 7 years of experience
  • Basic written and spoken english proficiency
  • Child safeguarding 
  • Confident in the use Microsoft and Google Suites, and Gymnastics Scoring Systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • An appropriate approach to age-group training focusing on the skill & qualities, technical competence, motivation, enjoyment, team-building and long-term success
  • Strong organisational skills, including a working knowledge of sports tournament and programme organisation at a recreational level
  • A commitment to a holistic education and to the mission of the school
  • An ability to develop relationships based on mutual respect
