About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Hadoop Administrator with three to five years of hands on experience in managing enterprise grade Hadoop environments. You will play a key role in supporting data platforms used across the Banking and Financial Services landscape.
This role sits within our Financial Services Strategic Business Unit in Singapore and involves close collaboration with data engineering, infrastructure and application teams across the region.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure and upgrade Hadoop clusters and components in production and non production environments
- Monitor and support HDFS, YARN, Hive, Spark, Zookeeper and related services
- Perform cluster health checks, performance tuning and capacity planning
- Manage security using Kerberos, Ranger or equivalent access management frameworks
- Implement backup, restoration and disaster readiness procedures
- Troubleshoot service failures and system issues with quick response and resolution
- Coordinate patching, upgrades and maintenance activities with minimum disruption
- Support data engineering and analytics teams on cluster related requirements
- Prepare and maintain operational runbooks and documentation
- Ensure compliance with Capgemini security standards, audit requirements and industry best practices
Required Skills and Experience
- Three to five years of hands on experience in Hadoop administration
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, cluster management and Hadoop architecture
- Knowledge of Linux administration and scripting using Shell, Python or similar
- Experience with Hadoop ecosystem tools such as Hive, Spark, Kafka, Oozie or Zookeeper
- Ability to analyze logs, performance metrics and system behaviors
- Experience with monitoring and automation tools such as Ambari, Cloudera Manager, Grafana or Splunk
- Knowledge of cloud based Hadoop platforms or big data services is an advantage
- Strong communication skills and experience working with cross functional teams
Education
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related discipline
- Equivalent experience may also be considered
