Job Description

Permanent position with a 12-months rotational program within different Investment Services teams to discover different activities, as well as build expertise and professional skills. Rotation will be arranged for the graduate within IS organization including but not limited to

- Fixed Income / Equity / Funds / Private Markets research and Advisory

- Investment Advisory and Discretionary Portfolio Management Services

- Product Governance and management.

During the program, under supervision of various Team Leaders / Heads as mentor, the Graduate is expected to gain exposure to the following functional areas:

- Private banking investment advisory framework

- Discretionary Portfolio Management Investment Process and portfolio construction.

- Equity / Fixed Income / external fund manager selection process

- Building blocks of investment portfolios

- Product risk classification and client suitability frameworks for private banks

At the end of all rotations, the Graduate is expected to be trained in:

- Asset class knowledge - gain some understanding and application of the basic process of screening investment products for opportunities.

- Portfolio Management and Construction - gain some understanding and application of the basic process of portfolio management and construction

- Market profiling – support the development of marketing pitches, as well as propositions for new product.

- Market Research and Analysis – continuously develop investment acumen in the context of investing for high-net-worth individuals and entities.

- Product Management - gain some understanding of the Product control landscape integral to the product governance framework.

Performing regulated activities

-As part of the integration of the Graduate into the Investment Services team and his/her development to eventually specialise in at least one asset class or service, he/she is expected to take part in regulated activities conducted by the specialists, advisors and Portfolio managers across asset classes.

-These activities will be conducted under the supervision of the respective team heads, and include but are not limited to:

- Assisting RMs and Advisors to explain particular investment propositions in key client pitches and meetings.

- Arranging of timely and regular updates of key instruments held by clients to RMs as part of the comprehensive “after-sales” advisory service.

- Assisting in the development and production of investment proposals and presentations to clients and prospects

- Working with Portfolio managers on portfolio construction and re-balancing.

- Assisting asset class specialist in their activities pertain to research as well as preparation of research / marketing materials.

- Contribute to strategic and tactical trading ideas suitable for the bank’s client base.

Other expected tasks

- Assist product specialists monitoring investment product exposure to provide necessary performance update to clients and front office teams

- Perform market analysis across coverage sectors and companies in the UBP product universe and provide research communication to front office teams.

- Coordinate with business management, compliance, middle office team, and other key stakeholders to ensure investment product offerings, discretionary and advisory services are in compliant with UBP policy.

- Monitor client portfolios to update front office teams for any house view changes, performance alert, investment opportunities, portfolio rebalancing needs, and etc.

- Participate implementation of investment campaign and global launches providing necessary marketing supports to front office teams including product training, marketing materials, order taking, client meetings, joint calls, and etc.

Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Management
• Basic knowledge in excel VBA / at least a programming language e.g. Javascript, Python and C++, will be a plus
• Proficiency in Mandarin would be a plus
