Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Frontend Developer to design, develop, and maintain modern web applications using React and TypeScript. The role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders, UX designers, and backend teams to deliver scalable, high-quality frontend solutions in a regulated financial environment. The successful candidate will contribute to complex systems within the Wealth Management domain and help drive technical excellence across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain frontend applications using React (v18 or newer) and TypeScript.

• Translate business and functional requirements into efficient, scalable, and fit-for-purpose technical solutions.

• Develop reusable components and state management solutions using tools such as Redux, React Hooks, Context, and Suspense.

• Ensure high standards of UI/UX quality, performance, accessibility, and responsiveness.

• Analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve complex defects, including legacy system issues.

• Conduct unit and integration testing to ensure application reliability and maintainability.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile/Scrum methodologies to deliver projects on time.

• Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

• Support production systems by investigating and resolving incidents in a timely and effective manner.

• Ensure compliance with internal standards related to code quality, security, performance, and regulatory requirements.

• Participate in technical and architectural design reviews and help enforce architectural best practices.

• Estimate development effort, plan timelines, and manage progress for assigned tasks.

• Proactively engage stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.

Required Skills and Experience

Technical (Must Have)

• Strong experience in frontend development using React 18 or newer.

• Proficiency in TypeScript, modern JavaScript (ES6+), and CSS.

• Experience with:

  • React Hooks, Context, Routing, Suspense

  • State management libraries (e.g. Redux)

• Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals (algorithms, data structures, system design).

• Experience with unit and integration testing frameworks.

• Familiarity with frontend development tools such as Visual Studio Code and Chrome DevTools.

• Working knowledge of Git and CI/CD or DevOps environments.

• Basic knowledge of Linux shell commands.

Professional

• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Proactive, collaborative, and able to work under pressure in production-support scenarios.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with micro-frontend architecture (e.g. Module Federation).

• Knowledge of Web Components.

• Familiarity with frontend build tools such as Webpack or Vite.

• Advanced CSS skills.

• Prior experience in the finance or banking domain.
