The Role

We are hiring a Flavorist to join our creation team in Singapore. Reporting to the Senior Flavorist, you'll design and develop flavors for food and beverage applications across the Asia-Pacific market — working from client briefs, market trends, and your own creative instinct to build a portfolio of winning flavors that set our customers apart.

Responsibilities

• Create and develop flavors across all major categories including beverages, dairy, bakery, confectionery, savory, snacks, and culinary applications
• Interpret client briefs and target profiles, developing flavor solutions that meet technical specifications, cost parameters, and sensory expectations
• Formulate using a broad palette of natural and artificial aroma chemicals, essential oils, extracts, and other flavor raw materials
• Modify and optimize existing formulations for cost reduction, regulatory compliance, ingredient substitution, or regional taste preferences
• Conduct sensory evaluation and benchmarking against competitor products and market references
• Collaborate closely with application technologists to ensure flavor performance across different product matrices and processing conditions
• Work with the commercial team on client presentations, tasting sessions, and project pitches
• Maintain detailed and accurate formulation records and documentation
• Stay current on flavor trends, consumer preferences, and emerging ingredients relevant to the APAC market
• Support the development of the company's flavor library and proprietary bases
• Contribute to speed-to-market by maintaining fast turnaround on briefs without compromising quality

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or related discipline
• Minimum 3 years of experience in flavor creation at a flavor house or flavor manufacturing company
• Strong sensory acuity and a well-developed understanding of aroma chemicals, naturals, and flavor composition
• Working knowledge of flavor regulations across key APAC markets (Singapore, ASEAN, Australia, China is an advantage)
• Experience formulating across multiple food and beverage categories
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple briefs with competing deadlines
• Strong collaborative skills — comfortable working across technical, application, and commercial functions
• Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal
• Familiarity with flavor creation software and formulation management systems is an advantage
