Job Description
Location: Orchard
Working Hours: 5 days work week, shift work
Salary: Up to $3499 + staff meals provided
Our client is a leading international hospitality company. They are looking for a hands-on and reliable Technician to join their Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the hotel's facilities, equipment, and building systems to ensure a safe, comfortable, and seamless experience for our guests and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
Building & Facilities Maintenance
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning, mechanical, and building systems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot technical issues efficiently.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure equipment and facilities are operating safely and effectively.
- Assist with repairs, installations, renovations, and improvement projects as required.
Operational Support
- Monitor the performance of engineering equipment and report abnormalities.
- Support event and banquet setups by ensuring all technical and facility requirements are met.
- Assist in maintaining essential systems such as lighting, water supply, ventilation, generators, and fire safety equipment.
- Coordinate with contractors and service providers during maintenance and repair works.
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to workplace safety regulations, hotel policies, and engineering standards.
- Participate in emergency response procedures and ensure readiness of backup systems.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Identify and report potential hazards, equipment failures, or safety concerns promptly.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with Housekeeping, Front Office, F&B, and other departments to support hotel operations.
- Communicate effectively during shift handovers and team meetings.
- Contribute to a positive team culture through cooperation and professionalism.
- Participate in ongoing training and skills development programmes.
Guest Experience
- Ensure maintenance issues affecting guest comfort are resolved quickly and professionally.
- Carry out work with minimal disruption to hotel guests and operations.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude when interacting with guests.
Requirements
- NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services, or a related field.
- 1β3 years of maintenance or engineering experience, preferably in hospitality, commercial buildings, or facilities management.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
- Knowledge of fire safety systems and workplace safety practices is an advantage.
