Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a compassionate, strategic, and values-driven Executive Director to lead the Lodge’s operations, programs, and community impact.
As a longstanding Buddhist charitable organization, the Lodge serves the community through religious activities, welfare initiatives, and outreach programs while upholding Buddhist values.
This role requires a strong and capable leader who can work closely with the Board, guide staff and volunteers, strengthen governance, and build meaningful partnerships to support the Lodge’s long-term sustainability and growth.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the overall strategy, organizational development, and daily operations of the Lodge.
• Work closely with the Board on governance, policies, and short-term and long-term planning, including Board Meetings, Annual General Meetings, governance reports, and implementation updates.
• Oversee programs, service delivery, administration, and day-to-day operational matters.
• Ensure compliance with risk management, legal, audit, safety, PDPA, and fire safety requirements, including serving as the Data Protection Officer and Site Main Controller where required.
• Ensure sound financial stewardship and regulatory compliance, including requirements under the Charities Act and IPC regulations.
• Build and foster a positive, collaborative, and values-driven organizational culture.
• Lead, mentor, and develop staff and volunteers, including succession planning.
• Strengthen stakeholder engagement with donors, devotees, partners, and the wider community.
• Drive fundraising initiatives and resource development to support organizational sustainability.
• Enhance organizational effectiveness, outreach efforts, and public profile.
• Represent the Lodge at official events, religious activities, and community platforms.
Requirements
• Degree holder with at least 10 years of senior leadership experience, preferably in a non-profit, community, social service, or faith-based organization.
• Strong strategic planning, operational, people management, and financial management capabilities.
• Good understanding of Singapore’s charity governance framework.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Collaborative, mission-driven leadership style with high integrity.
• Culturally sensitive and able to work effectively with diverse communities.
• Passion for and appreciation of Buddhist values and community service.
• Ability to balance tradition with modern organizational practices.
• Familiarity with Buddhist teachings and practices will be an added advantage.
Working Conditions
• 5-day work week.
• Required to be available on weekends, evenings, and public holidays when needed for religious events and community programs.
