Position Overview

Singapore International School Dili (SIS) is an international primary school utilising the Singapore curriculum and located in the capital city of Timor-Leste. Having successfully completed our first year of operations, SIS has achieved its initial student enrolment goals and is now entering the next phase of growth and academic strengthening.

As the school prepares its students for the International Primary School Leaving Examination (iPSLE) in Grade 6, SIS is establishing a dedicated Examination Preparation Department to systematically raise academic readiness and ensure students are well prepared for a range of examinations (not limited to iPSLE alone) that may be required by parents in the future depending on each child’s pathway and needs.

We are therefore seeking enthusiastic educators from Singapore with a strong tuition and examination-focused background, who are familiar with the Singapore curriculum and assessment standards, to join this pioneering department.

This role is ideal for fresh graduates or educators who have tuition experience, are highly familiar with the Singapore syllabus, and are passionate about helping students achieve examination confidence and mastery. SIS is moving beyond conventional hiring based solely on formal teaching qualifications and is instead looking for educators with strong practical experience in preparing students for academic assessments.

The Examination Preparation Department will work closely with the Academic Planning Team, classroom teachers, and the principal to realise the SIS educational philosophy:

“Allowing your child to study at SIS will offer parents who are undecided today the luxury of choice to make the best decision for that child in the future.”

Being part of this department involves:

• Designing structured exam-focused lesson plans aligned to the Singapore syllabus and focused on the three core principles of focus, content readiness and exam familiarisation.
• Working alongside subject teachers to strengthen students’ foundational understanding.
• Developing revision frameworks, practice systems, and assessment strategies.
• Establish and manage the school’s examination invigilation premises in full compliance with the guidelines and requirements set by the respective examination boards.
• Tracking student progress closely and providing targeted academic interventions.
• Preparing students not only for iPSLE, but for other examinations as required by parents’ future plans for their children.

DO NOTE THAT THIS IS A OVERSEAS ASSIGNMENT AND THE CANDIDATE IS REQUIRED TO RELOCATE TO TIMOR LESTE. Reporting Accountability
The Examination Preparation Coordinator reports directly to the principal of SIS Dili.

Terms of Employment
Fixed Term (number of days per year)

Salary & Benefits
An expatriate package which includes flight, accommodation and other allowances to be provided on top of a base salary.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess teaching experience in a tuition center that delivers the Singapore primary school curriculum.
• Fresh graduates can apply.
• Hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised institution.
• Teaching or curriculum development experience in English, Math and Science.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Able to interact and work with diversity.
• Strong command of English.
