Enrichment Practitioner

The Enrichment Practitioner is required to support the continuous development of a progressive whole-school Enrichment Programme for students across Grades 7-12,providing students with stimulating, challenging and enjoyable learning experiences in and beyond the classroom.

Successful candidates will work collaboratively with the Assistant Principal of Enrichment, Head of Outdoor Education and Experiential Learning, and broader enrichment team to lead and deliver the Enrichment programme. A core part of the role will involve attending all expeditions (within Singapore &overseas), in addition to supporting and contributing to a range of activities to support the holistic education that SJI International provides, including other enrichment trips and experiences.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

CASL (Creativity, Activity, Service and Lasallian), CCA and CAS programmes:

• Working with the CASL/CCA/CAS Coordinator to support the delivery of these programmes.

• Delivering of effective CASL sessions with students across the age, and ability ranges from Grade 7-10

• Monitoring and authorisation of CAS experiences for all Diploma students, allocated to you. 

• Working closely with CAS project week students and attending their expeditions as the main support and staff contact.

Faith Formation programme:

• Provide support with Faith Formation school events, initiatives and Mission trips.

Outdoor Education programme:

• Work closely with the Head of Outdoor Education and Experiential Learning to support the delivery of a progressive Outdoor Education programme across the whole High School

• Deliver effective Outdoor Education preparation sessions to students across the age, and ability ranges from Grade 7-12 

• Plan and deliver appropriate Outdoor Education lessons within the Physical Education curriculum e.g. climbing wall and kayaking.

• Plan and deliver appropriate Outdoor Education lessons/workshops for the delivery of Bronze, Silver and Gold NYAA

• Oversee the progress of and provide support to a specific group of  students completing the Bronze, Silver and Gold NYAA

• Support the Head of Outdoor Education and Experiential Learning in working with the NYAA central office to organise awards

• Attend all overseas and local expeditions in the OE Dept (including practice expeditions)

• Share good practice with Outdoor Education staff where qualifications and experience enable

Service Learning programme:

• Provide support with Service learning school events, initiatives and trips

General Responsibilities:

• Support the Sports Department by taking and overseeing teams in the ACSIS and National School Games league in Singapore and overseas (inclusive of coaching)

• Use differentiated strategies to support individuals with SEN/EAL in line with school and faculty policy, as guided by the Learning Support team

• Plan and lead activities for student Enrichment induction sessions

• Participate in staff training and annual performance review

• Maintain good practice in Outdoor Education through completion of relevant professional development 

• Complete training and assessment courses to gain further qualifications as required by the school

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a relevant field

• First aid qualification suitable for off-site education

• Experience working with children/adults in the Outdoor Education sector

• Knowledge of safeguarding issues in a school environment

• Capable of independent and committed effort, with good organisation & interpersonal skills

• The ability to work flexibly, including evening, overnight, weekend and holidays
