Position: Engineer (Civil & Structural)
Date: April 2026
Location: Singapore
Reports to: Team Lead / Senior Engineer
Purpose:
· The Civil and Structural Engineer provides competent, independent civil and structural engineering support on projects of limited to moderate complexity, under the guidance of senior engineers. The role contributes to the design, coordination and delivery of safe, compliant structural solutions, applying established engineering principles, WSP standards and relevant regulatory requirements to achieve high‑quality project outcomes.
· The role supports delivery across the full project lifecycle—from concept and design development through documentation, authority submissions, and site support to project completion—and ensures work outputs meet quality and SHEQ expectations. In line with JAF P2 (Professional/Engineer) expectations, the role focuses on executing preliminary and detailed designs, supporting design calculations and documentation, and contributing to construction review and resolution of technical issue
· The role leverages digital and emerging technologies, including data‑enabled and AI‑assisted engineering tools, to support efficient analysis, design development, documentation and coordination while maintaining professional engineering judgement.
Key Responsibility Areas
Responsibilities:
1) Design Delivery (Building Structures / Civil & Structural Works)
· Undertake preliminary, schematic and detailed design for building structures and associated civil/structural elements.
· Perform structural analysis, including load paths, loadings and stresses, ensuring structural elements safely support and transmit applied loads within allowable limits, consistent with project and code requirements.
· Prepare and contribute to design deliverables, including calculations, design reports, drawings, and specifications in accordance with WSP standards and project briefs
· Ensure clarity in working communication with teams locally and in GCC centers and checking technical deliverables
2) Technical Analysis, Documentation & Reviews
· Carry out engineering calculations and technical analysis; identify and resolve routine and selected non‑routine design issues within own discipline.
· Participate in technical discussions on common design problems and contribute to practical, buildable solutions.
· Support internal reviews/checks of design and drawings to obtain approvals in accordance with project QA/QC processes (including assisting as checker where appropriate to level).
3) Authority Interface & Submissions
· Support the preparation of legislative/authority submissions required at different project stages (as applicable), including coordination of submission inputs and responses to comments under supervision.
4) Stakeholder Management & Coordination
· Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including Clients, Client’s consultants, contractors and authorities to support technical coordination and timely resolution of issues.
· Collaborate effectively across disciplines (e.g., architecture, MEP, geotechnical) to reduce clashes and ensure coordinated design outcomes.
5) Quality, Safety & SHEQ
· Assist in maintaining high quality standards of design and construction outputs through adherence to WSP processes and project QA requirements.
· Participate in and support the Company’s SHEQ requirements within the scope of duties, including safe practices during site activities
6) Digital, Data & AI‑Enabled Engineering Support
· Use approved digital, generative and agentic AI tools to support engineering analysis, design development and documentation tasks under supervision.
· Apply AI‑assisted tools to improve efficiency in structural calculations checks, design iteration, technical reporting and preparation of engineering deliverables.
· Support the use of AI‑enabled tools for data analysis, design option comparison, constructability reviews and early risk identification.
· Assist with automated or semi‑automated generation of design documentation (e.g. calculation narratives, design reports, schedules), ensuring outputs are reviewed and verified in accordance with engineering standards.
· Use digital tools to support interdisciplinary coordination, clash identification and resolution (e.g. via BIM‑enabled workflows).
· Maintain awareness of ethical, quality, data security and regulatory considerations when using AI‑enabled tools in engineering activities.
· Escalate limitations or uncertainties arising from AI‑assisted outputs and apply professional judgement at all times.

Requirements:
· Recognised Degree in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering or equivalent
· Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience (typically 2–4 years) in civil and/or structural design engineering, such as building structures and/or infrastructure projects
· Working knowledge of Singapore Codes of Practice, applicable standards and regulatory requirements relevant to civil and structural engineering
· Experience or exposure to engineering design development, documentation, authority submissions and site support is an advantage
· Ability to carry out structural analysis and design calculations, and prepare clear, high‑quality technical documentation
· Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
· Exposure to or interest in digital, computational or AI‑enabled engineering tools (e.g. BIM‑based automation, data analysis, AI‑assisted design or documentation tools) is an advantage
· Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to support effective project delivery
· Commitment to maintaining quality, safety, health, environmental and compliance (SHEQ) standards within the scope of duties
