An Electrical Household Appliance Fitter is responsible for installing, repairing, maintaining, and testing electrical appliances used in households. This role ensures that appliances are functional, safe, and meet required electrical standards. The fitter works both on new installations and service/repair calls.

Key Responsibilities

1. Installation of Appliances

• Install household electrical appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, microwaves, air conditioners, ovens, water heaters, and other domestic electrical devices.

• Connect appliances to power sources, ensuring correct wiring and compliance with safety regulations.

• Follow manufacturer instructions and electrical codes during installation.

2. Maintenance and Servicing

• Perform routine checks and preventive maintenance on appliances.

• Clean, lubricate, and replace worn-out parts to ensure efficient operation.

• Maintain records of maintenance schedules and repairs.

3. Repair and Troubleshooting

• Diagnose electrical or mechanical faults in household appliances.

• Replace defective components such as switches, motors, heating elements, or wiring.

• Test appliances after repair to ensure proper functionality and safety.

4. Safety Compliance

• Ensure all work follows electrical safety standards and regulations.

• Use protective equipment and proper tools to prevent accidents.

• Advise customers on safe usage and handling of electrical appliances.

5. Customer Interaction

• Explain the repair or installation process to clients.
