Job Summary

Draftsperson roles involve creating precise technical shop and working drawings using AutoCAD and BIM software, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring compliance with construction standards to support successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed shop drawings from construction drawings, hand-drawn sketches, and verbal instructions to support project execution
• Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, project managers, and engineers to clarify project specifications and requirements
• Assist in quantity measurement to support project cost estimation and resource planning
• Prepare precision technical shop and working drawings using AutoCAD software to meet project standards
• Coordinate minor Architectural, Structural, and M&E drawing integration to ensure design consistency
• Detail and document working drawings accurately to facilitate construction and installation processes
• Design and draft mechanical and electrical building services drawings compliant with Singapore’s code of practice
• Review and interpret project specifications, technical clarifications, and construction drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Schedule and supervise Structural, Architectural, and M&E works from project commencement to completion to meet timelines
• Independently identify and implement solutions to field problems and respond promptly to subcontractors’ requests for information
• Maintain CAD standards and control drawing versions to ensure document accuracy and traceability
• Conduct onsite inspections and coordinate construction services to align with design management plans and schedules
• Maintain accurate records of drawing issue sheets, referenced drawing numbers, and title blocks for project documentation
• Adapt existing drawings to incorporate design changes demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness
• Work proactively to meet productivity standards and complete deliverables within established timelines
• Assist Senior Design Manager in planning, organizing, implementing, coordinating, and controlling architectural works
• Perform any adhoc duties as assigned to support project and team objectives

Required competencies and certifications

• Proficient in AutoCAD software and basic computer software to produce technical drawings
• At least 1 year of relevant working experience in drafting or related roles
• Professional certificate/NiTEC, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Drafting, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
• Knowledge of Singapore’s building codes and standards for mechanical and electrical services drafting

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience in structural steel works to enhance drafting accuracy and project relevance
• Prior experience in the construction or building industry to support practical application of drafting skills
• Knowledge of BIM software to improve design coordination and project efficiency
• Ability to start work immediately or within a short notice period
