About the Role
McConnell Dowell seeks an experienced Commercial Manager for our marine work projects in Singapore. In this leadership role, you will drive commercial success, ensure seamless contract administration, and play a key role in shaping our high-impact infrastructure projects.

What You’ll Do
- Lead & Strategize: Supporting the Project Manager to oversee commercial and contractual activities in the project on-site, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and risk mitigation.
- Optimize Performance: Implement commercial policies, manage financial forecasting, and drive cost control.
- Risk & Opportunity Management: Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and maximize opportunities.
- Contract Expertise: Administer and manage head contracts, ensuring smooth execution and resolution of contractual matters.
- Financial Oversight: Manage cash flow forecasts, monthly reporting, and final account closure.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams to achieve optimal project outcomes.
- Dispute Resolution: Provide strategic guidance on contractual issues and assist in negotiations for favorable outcomes.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Train and develop contract administration and project teams in commercial best practices.
- Compliance & Audits: Ensure adherence to legal standards and participate in external audits as required.
The ideal candidate
- A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying, or related fields.
- 10 years in contractual/project engineering and commercial management in similar large scale projects.
- Proven ability to analyze contractual/legal issues and drive innovative solutions.
- Strong financial and risk management skills with a keen eye for cost control.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ready to start at short notice and work an alternate 6-day work week.
