Commercial Director

A leading global tech-events platform is seeking a senior commercial leader to drive sponsorship and partnership revenue across its international portfolio of events. This role will own the commercial strategy, build structured sales processes, and maintain high-level relationships across the industry ecosystem.

The Commercial Director will play a key role in shaping growth and elevating the organisation’s market position.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the sponsorship and partnerships revenue function.

• Define commercial strategy, pricing, and revenue targets.

• Build and manage commercial pipeline and forecasting processes.

• Identify, negotiate, and close strategic partnerships with key industry players.

• Maintain and grow relationships with senior stakeholders across the ecosystem.

• Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing commercial team.

• Represent the organisation externally at executive and industry level.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in commercial leadership, partnerships, business development, or revenue roles.

• Background in high-growth, tech-led, or financial services environments with strong ecosystem exposure.

• Proven track record of closing large, strategic commercial agreements.

• Strong senior-level network across relevant industry participants.

• Highly structured and process-driven; able to build commercial systems and operating discipline.

• Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, global environment.

• Strong communication and executive stakeholder management skills.

• Mature leadership style — able to act as the “adult in the room.”
