Job Description: Childcare Operations Supervisor

The Childcare Operations Supervisor is the engine room of our center. This role isn’t just about making sure the lights stay on; it’s about creating a seamless, safe, and high-quality environment where educators can teach and children can thrive. You will bridge the gap between high-level administrative strategy and the day-to-day "boots on the ground" reality of a busy childcare facility.

### Role Overview

  • Position: Childcare Operations Supervisor

  • Reports to: Center Director / Owner

  • Purpose: To oversee daily logistical, regulatory, and administrative functions, ensuring the center operates at peak efficiency while maintaining 100% compliance with state and federal standards.

### Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Excellence & Facility Management

  • Oversee daily opening/closing procedures and ensure the facility is secure, clean, and inviting.

  • Manage vendor relationships (catering, cleaning, maintenance) and schedule repairs as needed.

  • Monitor supply inventories (educational materials, first aid, snacks) and manage procurement within budget.

2. Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure the center remains in full compliance with licensing regulations, health department codes, and fire safety standards.

  • Conduct regular safety drills and maintain meticulous records for audits.

  • Review incident reports and implement corrective actions to minimize future risks.

3. Staff Coordination & Scheduling

  • Manage staff rosters to ensure optimal child-to-teacher ratios at all times, including coordinating substitute cover.

  • Assist in the onboarding of new hires, focusing on operational workflows and safety protocols.

  • Support the Director in performance tracking and professional development logistics.

4. Enrollment & Family Relations

  • Manage the enrollment pipeline, conducting tours for prospective families and processing registration paperwork.

  • Act as a secondary point of contact for parents regarding billing, scheduling, or operational concerns.

  • Maintain accurate digital and physical student records, including immunization and emergency contact logs.
