Job Description
Our client, an established company within a diversified group, is seeking a commercially driven Chief Financial Officer to lead its finance function and support its next phase of growth.
As the company plans to expand its portfolio into the corporate secretarial services sector, the CFO will play a pivotal role in evaluating acquisitions, executing transactions and integrating acquired businesses.
Key Responsibilities
M&A and Strategic Growth
- Partner with the Board to develop and execute the company’s acquisition and portfolio-growth strategy.
- Evaluate potential acquisition targets through financial due diligence, valuation, financial modelling and risk assessment.
- Assess deal structures, funding requirements, investment returns and key transaction risks.
- Coordinate with lawyers, auditors, tax advisers, financial institutions and other professional parties.
- Support transaction negotiations and present clear financial recommendations to the Board.
- Lead post-acquisition financial integration and monitor the performance of acquired businesses.
Financial Leadership
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, treasury and cash-flow management.
- Provide timely financial reports, performance analysis and strategic insights to the Board.
- Oversee financial reporting, taxation, annual audits and statutory compliance.
- Strengthen internal controls, financial policies, corporate governance and risk-management processes.
- Support investment, financing and corporate restructuring initiatives.
- Lead and develop the finance team to support existing operations and future business growth.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking or a related discipline.
- At least 8 years of progressive finance experience, including a minimum of 3 years as a CFO, Finance Director or in an equivalent senior leadership role.
- Proven experience in M&A, corporate restructuring, investments, fundraising or cross-border transactions.
- Strong knowledge of financial due diligence, business valuation, financial modelling and deal analysis.
- Practical experience in post-acquisition integration and performance monitoring.
- Sound understanding of financial reporting, taxation, audit, internal controls and corporate governance.
- Strong commercial judgement, analytical capabilities and risk awareness.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively and provide recommendations to Board-level stakeholders.
- Strong command of English and the ability to work with local and overseas professional advisers.
- Hands-on, adaptable and comfortable working in a growing business environment.
Preferred Experience
- Candidates with one or more of the following will have an advantage:
- A successful track record in completing acquisitions and integrating acquired businesses
- Experience in corporate services, professional services or corporate secretarial businesses
- Listed-company or pre-IPO experience
- Big Four audit, transaction advisory or corporate finance experience
- Investment banking, private equity or fund-management background
- Cross-border M&A or restructuring experience
- Familiarity with IFRS, US GAAP or listed-company reporting requirements
- CPA, CA, ACCA, CFA or an equivalent professional qualification
