Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Tandoor & Curry Chef to join our kitchen team. The candidate must be highly competent in preparing authentic Indian tandoori and curry dishes, with the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining consistency, quality, and food safety standards.

The ideal candidate should be multi-skilled, knowledgeable in both tandoor and curry preparation, and capable of contributing to menu planning, recipe development, and kitchen operations

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a wide range of tandoori items efficiently using the tandoor oven
  • Prepare authentic Indian curry dishes with consistency in taste, texture, and presentation
  • Ensure fast and efficient preparation of food during peak service hours
  • Marinate, season, and cook meats, seafood, breads, and other tandoori items to required standards
  • Prepare gravies, sauces, curry bases, and specialty dishes according to restaurant recipes
  • Create, standardize, and improve recipes and menu items
  • Assist in menu planning and development of new dishes
  • Train and guide kitchen staff on food preparation methods, recipes, and cooking techniques
  • Explain recipes, ingredients, and cooking methods clearly to management and kitchen team
  • Monitor food quality, stock usage, portion control, and wastage
  • Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and compliance with food safety standards at all times
  • Support overall kitchen operations and work closely with the team to ensure smooth service

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Tandoor Chef / Curry Chef / Indian Chef
  • Strong expertise in both tandoor cooking and Indian curry preparation
  • Skilled in preparing food at high speed without compromising quality
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team in a busy kitchen environment
  • Good knowledge of Indian spices, marination techniques, gravies, and traditional cooking methods
  • Ability to create menus, develop recipes, and introduce new dishes
  • Multi-skilled and adaptable in handling different sections of the kitchen
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Able to work on weekends, public holidays, and shift schedules

Working Hours / Conditions:

  • Must be willing to work on weekends and public holidays
