Since its inception, the multi-label brand has made significant strides in the fashion retail scene. From having only 11 Asian-designer brands under its belt in 2014, SocietyA currently houses over 80 brands from Korea, Paris, New York, Indonesia, Thailand and more. With a decade of business under its belt, SocietyA moves into a new era, now presenting leading global designers and brands to its audience.
Responsibilities:
As a Buyer, you will play a key role in the strategizing and developing the brands and collections within the Womenswear category. You will be required to work closely with Ecommerce, Retail, Merchandising, Marketing, Operations, Content, and Creative team to establish successful product lines for SocietyA. We welcome people who have strong interest in fashion, and strong analytical skills to join the team.
- Develop the merchandising mix in line with SocietyA’s overall vision and strategy.
- Lead seasonal buying preparations, coordinating with stakeholders on deliverables and timelines.
- Forecast order quantities for assigned product categories.
- Drive tactical actions to achieve KPIs including sales targets, sell-through rates, and optimal inventory levels.
- Support pre-season planning including launch planning, assortment planning, allocation, and pricing strategies.
- Support in-season trading activities and campaigns including repeat orders, markdowns, and stock consolidation.
- Source and onboard new brands and emerging designers aligned with SocietyA’s brand direction.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and external partners.
- Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and country-level nuances to optimise business performance.
- Conduct seasonal buying briefings for internal stakeholders.
- Analyse seasonal product performance and compile post-buy reports, including sell-through by brand and category.
- Translate insights into improved future buying strategies and product assortment planning.
- Undertake additional assignments as required by the General Manager.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree in Business, Retail Management, Fashion Marketing, Merchandising, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in merchandising, buying, or retail planning.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organisational, planning, and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong numerical aptitude.
- Strong presentation and report-writing capabilities.
- Passion for the beauty and fashion industry.
- Bilingual abilities are an advantage.
- Willingness to travel internationally for fashion weeks and trade shows.
